Very pleased that Council voted to endorse @hsr / @atu_canada operations of #HamOnt #yesLRT This continues more than a half-billion dollar investment in expanding transit across the @cityofhamilton and provides the best conditions for success City-wide. Onwards! 🚆
Excellent interview with Councillor @HamOntWard4 and @rickzamperin on #yesLRT operations on @AM900CHML Very hopeful this means a more unified vote at Council to show @Metrolinx #HamOnt is united and ready to work collaboratively to get LRT built! 🚈 open.spotify.com/episode/7aiTfr…
@johnjoy1966 I don't get why the conversation has never been 'hey metrolinx, your successful proponent will have ATU107 as the bargaining agent for the employees' my fav all time #Yeslrt argument is still "well, if we build it, and they don't offer ATU107, we'll boycott it"
Private contractor operations of #yesLRT were always intended to transition to public @hsr - @AndreaHorwath & @TedMcMeekin's amendment makes this official with a timeline - a very positive commitment to @atu and a collaborative partnership with @Metrolinx cbc.ca/news/canada/ha…
Who should operate #yesLRT? Why did Council support starting with private operation and then transition to @hsr? @radleyatthespec and I discuss on @AM900CHML open.spotify.com/episode/74gJv3…
@hamiltonlabour @YWCA_Hamilton @SPRCHamOnt Might make it harder to win support from those orgs with @Metrolinx continued lack of transparency on tenant supports and rights or clear in writing promises on good jobs and Community benefits. Not to mention affordable housing. Who will #yesLRT activists turn for support?
This ensures taxpayers are protected through the first 10 years of #yeslrt, while making an achievable commitment to long term @hsr & @atu public operations - building a positive, collaborative foundation for the @cityofhamilton 's partnership with @Metrolinx & @fordnation
Sometimes the right answer takes a long path... Thanks to @AndreaHorwath's leadership & @TedMcMeekin's insight through their compromise amendment - #HamOnt will endorse contractor #yeslrt operations to start, with an official commitment to transition to @hsr public operations.

@alexzafer Oh wait....a couple of those No votes were trying to cause another delay for #YesLRT ?
#yesLRT moves forward with a vote from the GIC to look public operations down the line. A contagious issue for @HamiltonLRT voters has been decided. Hopefully, phase 1 work gets underway soon.

@JohnPaulDanko @cityofhamilton @hsr Should of invested into electrified bus fleet not this #lrt boondoggle, we could of been riding these carbon free buses now not ten years from now if #yeslrt ever happens
The @cityofhamilton is investing over a half BILLION dollars into the @hsr transit system - hundreds of millions from local #HamOnt taxpayers in the biggest sustained transit investments ever. End area rating for transit & add even more. That doesn't happen without #yesLRT

The reason #HamOnt #yesLRT is not in operation right now is because Council allowed union alliances and anti-LRT votes to align to block procurement in 2017. I cannot believe the same people are pulling the same stunt again - with the same stakes. globalnews.ca/news/10424023/…
Who should run @HamiltonLRT ? Turns out most Hamilton residents reject the Waterloo model and would like the deal @FinchWestLRT and @TTChelps got and for #YesLRT to be run by @hsr

@ham_bicycleguy @yesLRT there's no business case for #yeslrt, hence no federal funding. keep holding on to the dream though
Was the promise of #yesLRT a lie? Construction still hasn't started.. it was to be shoves in the ground. @Metrolinx wasn't displacing tenants now maybe is? What is going on with @HamiltonLRT ? BUILD IT NOW AND KEEP YOUR WORD @Metrolinx

“This very discussion was ultimately the reason we don’t have a LRT system operating right now,” Danko suggested in warning against further delays. #HamOnt is already investing hundreds of millions into @hsr transit - but we need both! #yesLRT thespec.com/news/council/p…
The conditions that incentivize rennovictions are directly due to #YesLRT and their supporters telling everyone #hamont should have LRT because property values will increase. "get that bag of money"
Many of us in the #yesLRT debate spent so much time and energy pushing to get the project period, sometimes we forget that now that it is a sure thing we also have to spend energy on making sure it's the best system with long term benefit we can get. @Metrolinx owns the project
