Swiftshader's vulkan support is pretty impressive. Minimal feature set but aside from a couple of bugs I got RenderDoc capturing and replaying applications on top of it quite quickly.

If we are renaming `mutex` to `bottleneck` and `shared_ptr` to `no_idea_who_owns_this` I propose we change `thread_local` to `insert_tons_of_code_each_time_this_is_accessed` as well.

Claybook in-game editor supports fluid simulation while editing the world. Simulation shown below takes less than 1 millisecond per frame (slowest console) with my new optimized fluid simulator.

Just wrote this mail on "fun" AVX issues, might be of general interest gist.github.com/rygorous/32bc3… TL;DR: VEX encoding and new 128b instrs are reasonably easy to deploy (other than build issues), 256b+ vector stuff is _hard_ to ship for libs due to power management.
