If a company’s growth is going to last, they need a moat to protect their business: - Network effects (social media, financial exchanges) - Intangible assets (brand, patents, etc) - Switching costs (Gmail, insurance) - Lowest-cost production (H&M) - Economies of scale (Boeing)
If you ever look at charts, Level 2 trading data, short information, etc... you've probably lost the plot. These are the actions of a short-term trader. Worrying about them makes you more likely to do something stupid.

Everyone will try to sell you on the next "world ending event." The internet/advertising incentivizes the sensational. Anything for more clicks. Don't listen to the noise. Stay the course.
The purpose of financial freedom is not to sip martinis on the beach… that gets old fast. It’s to free up your time. To focus on projects that contribute to the world/people around you.
There is no reason to ashamed about buying index funds. In fact, this is what the majority of investors should do. This is what Warren Buffett himself recommends. Buying individual stocks successfully requires a variety of your personality traits to align in the right way.
Your goals should be so big that few can relate
The only two occupations in the world where you can constantly be wrong and still keep your job: Meteorologist... and financial analyst. Be careful when listening to financial analysts. They're wrong far more than they're right.
This is CNN's Fear & Greed index. Just 1 month ago the markets were bearish. All doom and gloom. Now everything is sunshine and rainbows... Short-term stock trading is nearly impossible to succeed in. All because the stock market will continue to subvert your expectations.
