I'm still in the early stages of potential #endometriosis diagnosis even though I have been unwell for many years. I was due to have surgery a few weeks ago which was cancelled. I am now waiting to be given a new date. It feels never-ending. #endometriosisAwarenessMonth

Getting real tired of people around me who say 'I hope you can go out safely soon' while doing absolutely nothing to make that safety a reality, like wearing a mask. Safety for shielders and disabled people isn't going to fall from the sky. It depends on you, and you, and you.
I'm often asked if I can see a time when shielding will end. In all honestly I spend more time thinking about how it'll be almost impossible to trust my communities again, after seeing how many of y'all all but abandoned shielders at the first sight of the slightest inconvenience
Sitting with the fact that, if a time comes when I can be out and about safely again, I'll never be able to see my communities in the same way again. Every community I'm a part of - queer friends, writers, and even other disabled people - have by and large left shielders to rot.
